It's the season of brown bass everyone, and hopefully you shall be the recipient of many timely, relevant, and frequent fishing reports throughout 2025. Even though my year is only 3.5 days old, it has been excellent despite the very small sampling size. The sun and I did plenty of damage to the fisheries in recent days. This week I only fished Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday - and half the day Friday. I got to do an entire year's worth of fishing and catching in those 3.5 days it seemed. As of three weeks ago, ice out was happening. Since then, I wish I had been back on the water sooner as the ice out pre-spawn period happened too quickly. We missed that bite this year. Opener weekend was tough by everyone's accounts and standards. It was warm and flat calm out. Seemed like more struggle happening than success. Word from customers and friends had me worried and preparing for the worst when I arrived back in Minocqua to 80 degree weather on Monday. I thought it would be a bad first week. It was not!
