Northwoods Bass Fishing Report – Late August to Early September, 2025
Happy Labor Day Weekend. This report was written for you on Labor Day afternoon (I never take a day off!). The start of fall is coming quickly, as towards the end of this week we could be in for a seasonal change taking place.
While I favor cooldowns (it's been a hot summer to this point), I don't want massive coldfronts like the kind I see happening this week and next week which could adversely shut down the fishing. We want gradual cooling, and a prolonged fall season - kinda like how last year went with Indian Summer conditions in between, if you remember, where we had really good conditions all September month and throughout October.
There have been predictions that we could have a very cold fall, and an early winter, but lets just hold off with it until November please.
I recently wrapped up some pretty good fishing - Mrs. Northwoods Bass and I just completed vacation week. Fished a leisurely pace, 4 to 6 hrs each day most days, and none at all on others.
When on vacation, we target everything. A favorite pastime of ours that emerged in recent years is hunting for quality pike…. and we found a few.
