Northwoods Bass Fishing Report – Mid October, 2025
Hi everyone, here is the final fishing report for the 2025 season... and it might also be the last report I'll have for a while and until sometime next year.
As of October 18th, the last day that I fished, our lakes still hadn't turned over. This has to be a record for lateness.
In the last 6 days, water temperatures have been dropping approximately 0.50 to 1.0 degrees per day. So right now, we've gone from 56 to 60 down to to 50 to 56. Many lakes should be finishing up right now, or still in the middle of it.
Much of the upcoming forecast looks very cold and uncomfortable. Hard to say whether we will have an abrupt end to fall or not. Judging by the forecast, if water temps are capable of dropping 10 degrees these next two weeks, it can happen. I don't expect there to be much opportunities throughout the first half of November like we've been spoiled with these last few years.
With my year and guiding career ending, I got some much needed me-time last week before I had to ultimately shut down and winterize over the weekend.
