What We’re Throwing in May

Ice out finally took place 2 weeks ago and spring fishing patterns are now getting established.
The most exciting bites of early spring occur in very shallow water, so you’ll need all the subtle and lightweight lures you can get away with to reach these tight quarters. Slow retrieve speed, and hang time within the strike zone are keys to the game.

What We’re Throwing in April

Now that we have entered April month, the spring season is finally emerging. Ice out is occurring slower than normal currently, but once it goes out it’s game on for smallmouths.

Spring cold fronts come frequently and often, as they usually follow thunderstorms, rain

My Best Day Ever

Between a lot going on and lack of motivation, I’ve hit a wall for the first time in 3 years on my writing assignments this winter.

Smallmouths with the TRD FattyZ

How can a single bait that’s so soft, supple and lively also withstand dozens to hundreds of strikes without waving the white flag?
