Welcome to our end of season lure reveal, profiling and showcasing the best fish catchers of 2025. This year’s fishing was difficult and challenging on so many fronts, from weather and conditions to uncooperative fish, many tough fishing days, and even hosting some anglers who were not up to the task. Despite my own challenges off the water, having to skip almost an entire spring season and ALL mid to late fall, I checked the logs and did somehow managed to put in 75 days on the water. Good enough. Fishing this year was challenging, but at least there was consistency to those challenges. Big fish were found, and they continue to be caught despite continued lure rejections, high fishing pressure, getting repeatedly caught due to recycling, and several other adversities. My boat’s tackle selection reflected this. As a result of fishing pressure and conditioned fish, I’d say half the baits showcased in this year’s awards program are newcomers. Dust collectors and items that sat idle for several years such as retired and discontinued lures were brought back to life and consistently outfishing a lot of present-day baits.
