Northwoods Bass Fishing Report – Mid September, 2026
Break time is over, and I am back to serious fishing which I never thought would be something I'd be doing this year (or ever again) but life has a funny way of working and evolving once your new role gets established. So we're keeping this to weekends only. I just got back from an action-packed 2 day trip, hosting Jason Norris and Mike Potaniec for full day trips. This was the most serious and successful fishing my boat's had so far this year, and we've got lots to talk about in this latest Northwoods smallmouth report.
Before we dive further into the details, I took the year mostly off. Gave birth to our first child who is now 10 months old, and my Monday to Friday gig now is being his full time daycare. Then after last year ended and with so much shit going on I just needed a break entirely from this routine - a temporary retirement. Then I shut off fishing completely for several months thereafter. All of my fishing up to this point was solo or solely for fun and I have to say it turned into my most pitiful life's work and results on the water.
